The Chakra Energy Diet coverTHE CHAKRA ENERGY DIET is free for download on Amazon through Friday and will teach you…

The Right Food, Relaxation, Yoga & Exercise To Look and Feel your Best!

Ancient sages and modern medicine agree that stress is at the root of all disease. You can’t be stressed and healing at the same time. The way our bodies are programmed to handle stress is the problem.

If you’re worried about catching the Coronavirus, please increase the time you spend on self-care. THE CHAKRA ENERGY DIET will point you in the right direction.

STRESS, THE NOT-SO-SILENT SABOTEUR
An example of how stress sabotages our health can be seen on our scales. Stress affects our weight both physiologically and psychologically. We’ve all experienced our stomachs do a flip-flop when we’re anxious. Ann Doherty, RN, MS, CDE (certified diabetes educator), explains during her “Art of Stress Management” workshops, just what stress can do to your stomach and the rest of your body…

Physiologically, when you’re under stress, your digestion is impaired and you can’t receive the nourishment from the food you eat. Once the effects of adrenaline wear off, cortisol, known as the “stress hormone,” starts signaling the body to replenish your food stores.

Cortisol is a hormone that stimulates fat and carbohydrate metabolism for fast energy, and stimulates the release of insulin to maintain blood sugar levels. So, when stress causes your cortisol to surge, your appetite will be stimulated as well. Excess cortisol also slows down your metabolism, because your body wants to maintain an adequate supply of glucose to deal with the next “threat.”

The disruption of cortisol secretion during the “fight or flight” response may not only lead to weight gain, but it can also put that weight exactly where you don’t want it – in your belly. Studies have shown that stress and elevated cortisol tend to cause fat deposits in the abdominal area, which is strongly related to Syndrome X, the cluster of risk factors associated with heart disease.

Over millennia, our bodies have also been programmed to store up against famine… we’re biologically adapted to want more sugar and fat, which meant survival for our ancestors. But today, there’s no longer feast or famine like the hunter/gatherers encountered. And when they found food, it usually contained a high amount of nutrition and was low in calories. Our modern-day processed foods are often high in empty calories and low in nutrients, so we keep craving more and more.

When under stress, doesn’t your willpower go out the window? Most people are driven to eat comfort foods when stressed out, even if they’re not hungry. And comfort foods are usually high-fat, sugary, or salty foods.

Weebly photoAs we start the holiday season, take a moment to reflect on how you’re going to celebrate – and get tips on how to stay in balance and keep stress at bay, by reading THE CHAKRA ENERGY DIET, free for download on Amazon throughout the world this weekend.

If you’re blaming yourself for not being your “perfect weight,” stop. It’s not your fault. Rather, the way our bodies are programmed to handle stress is the problem. Stress is a double whammy for weight – it increases our appetites and leads to overeating or poor food choices, then makes our bodies hold on to the fat. The solution is not extreme dieting, which causes more stress, but knowing how to stop the stress reactions.

The Simple Secret To Balancing Your Chakras and Reaching Your Optimal Weight At the Same Time

DayHere’s the big secret… stress is screwing with your chakras as well as your physical health and body weight. I’m pretty sure that once you read how stress can sabotage your hormones (all linked to chakra centers), it will amaze you. And the solution I’m going to share is so simple, it will amaze you too.

We’re Always Searching For The “Magic Pill” For Weight Loss

But let’s face it; you can’t lose weight when you’re stressed out!

When stressed, your body tries to protect itself as part of the “fight or flight” response, so your blood flows to your muscles and away from your internal organs. However, once the effects of adrenaline wear off, cortisol, known as the “stress hormone,” starts signaling the body to replenish your food stores.

So how can you tame the tension? In my book BALANCE YOUR CHAKRAS, BALANCE YOUR LIFE, I showed how to use Dynamind to balance your chakras. It’s an instant healing technique that works because it releases the tension from your body. Here’s how…

Try Dynamind To Release Tension, Ease Pain, and Reduce Food Cravings…

Becca Chopra performing Dynamind. The next time you’re upset, stressed, in pain, reaching for junk food instead of “chakra healing natural foods,” try the simple Dynamind technique, developed by Serge Kahili King, PhD, a Hawaiian Healer and Shaman.

The technique can be used to reprogram the unconscious mind, to remove tension and resulting food cravings and tell your body-mind what you’d like to experience – and it will follow your instructions. This works well to heal the imbalances of chakra energy.

1) FOCUS – Hold your hands out in a loose prayer-like position.

2) DECLARE – Say aloud the condition you’re feeling that you would like to change, e.g.,

“I feel anxiety and a craving for potato chips in the pit of my stomach and that can change. I want that feeling to go away.”

3) RELEASE – Tap 7 times on the center of your chest, then at the point between the thumb and forefinger of each hand, and on the top bone of your spine (the 7th cervical vertebra).

4) BREATHE – Direct your breath, inhaling with your attention on the crown of your head, exhaling with your attention below your feet.

Repeat until you feel the desired result.

The Chakra Energy Diet : The Right Food, Relaxation, Yoga & Exercise To Look and Feel your Best!

The Chakra Energy Diet coverBefore I began writing The Chakra Energy Diet, I had a long learning curve where nutrition is concerned. If you’ve read my personal story in The Chakra Diaries and Chakra Secrets, you’ll know that my weight seesawed up and down along with my insecurities, romantic dramas, self-confidence, and mindfulness. A health scare led me to start my nutrition education and to understand that I needed to love my body, at every moment, unconditionally.

When faced with surgery for an ovarian cyst, I decided to listen and learn about a whole foods Macrobiotic diet. I immersed myself in a six-month cooking and counseling program and began eating “real” foods, not packaged “food-like” products. When I checked back with my physician three months later, he said the first ultrasound must have been in error, because there was now no sign of a cyst or of a hormonal imbalance. I had heard many anecdotes of “spontaneous remissions” of all kinds of problems among my new Macrobiotic friends, so I was not as surprised as my doctor.

“Let food be thy medicine” began to make sense to me.

Munching on bright orange carrot sticks had become my replacement for less than healthy snack foods. I realized it was no coincidence that I craved orange foods – orange is the color of the Sacral Chakra, associated with gynecological problems.

I integrated my newfound nutrition knowledge into my chakra balancing practice. In this book, I also recommend you eat “real,” “clean” food that contains the energy you need to keep up your vitality and health, replacing processed and refined foods – physical stressors that can keep you locked in a never-ending cycle of binging and dieting.

In Balance Your Chakras, Balance Your Life, I teach an “instant healing” technique that can be used to balance your emotional, mental, spiritual and physical bodies – which are all connected to your chakras. If you’ve already learned it, guess what? You can also use this Dynamind technique to stop food cravings related to stressed-out chakras. In The Chakra Energy Diet, I also share other stress-relieving techniques from Serge Kahili King, PhD, that you can use to heal your body, soothe your emotions, master your mind, and spark your spirit.

Yes, chronic stress is at the root of dis-ease and chakra imbalance, and at the root of eating disorders, weight problems, self-criticism of our bodies and obsession with dieting.

All energy comes from the light of the sun, which puts nutrients in the plants we eat, plants that vibrate with different colors, just like our chakras. Eating a rainbow of colors is important to keep the chakras balanced. After a discussion in The Chakra Energy Diet of what could be causing you to be imbalanced, I offer a plan to “feed” your chakras with high quality energy.

I’m excited to share with you what I have learned from my own missteps, the journeys of my clients, and from a host of teachers, including Serge Kahili King, PhD, a psychologist and Hawaiian healer, founder of Aloha International, and Ann Doherty, RN, CDE, who has taught “The Art of Stress Management” at the Hawaii Health Getaway for the last 15 years, and daily at the Sutter Health Diabetes Center in Berkeley, California.

The Chakra Energy Diet is now available on Amazon Kindle for download to any reading device or computer, at a special launch-week discount… and a BONUS: Free Menu Plans specific to your chakra imbalances.
