Help Yourself and Others with The Curious Mind Healing Technique

We know the STANDING ROCK protestors will need to continue their efforts through the cold winter since Energy Transfer Partners refuse to quit drilling. Do you feel they or others in the world are being treated unfairly and YOU WANT TO HELP? Look at your own emotions to practice this Healing Technique from Joseph Drumheller:the-curious-mind

Healing Technique – The Curious Mind

The following technique can be used on yourself and others, even if they are at a distance.

In over two decades in my walk as a healer, I’ve learned suppressed emotion from the past is one of the premier contributors to our suffering. Of the countless techniques effective in releasing suppressed emotion, none are as effective in their simplicity as The Curious Mind.

The Curious Mind naturally cultivates a certain level of necessary detachment between you and the emotion. All of a sudden it’s not your anger, hurt, or depression; it’s only an emotion you’re experiencing. In other words, your suppressed emotions are not you, they’re only something that’s happening to you. As you will experience, this creates a beneficial space between you and the emotion—a very helpful gap that enhances the release process.

Try This: Start with a clear-cut intention to heal a specific suppressed emotion completely. Sit or lie in a comfortable position and enter a deeply relaxed state. Next, feel the emotion in your body, as related to the area of life (or person) you’re trying to heal. It may be rage in your head (Crown Chakra), heaviness in your heart (Heart Chakra), tension in your stomach (Solar Plexus Chakra), etc. It should come readily. If it doesn’t, just pretend you can feel it (remember, the imagination is real, so pretending works). If you get bombarded with mind chatter or distracting thoughts, just let them come and go like watching clouds drifting by in the sky.

Next, simply pay attention to the emotion as you experience it. Be curious. Say to yourself, something like, “Oh, isn’t that interesting. I feel rage in my head, how curious.” As you focus on that experience, you’ll begin to feel a weakening, softening, or letting go of the emotion.

Now, here’s where everyone begins to differ, so you’ll need to develop you own method. You may feel the emotion as it begins to spin or swirl and move out of your body. It may start to dissolve or let go. It may create interesting sensations in your body like tingling, warmth, or deep peace. Whatever happens, keep your focus on what’s taking place. Don’t wallow in the emotion but stay with it, until it’s gone.

That’s it; the suppressed emotion is gone. If it returns, it will come back with less intensity and less frequency. Then go through the process again. It’s like lighting a log on a fire. Keep burning it, until it’s nothing but ash.

Many thanks to Joseph Drumheller for this great technique. Joseph is an award-winning author and energy healer from Washington State. He’s conducted over 2,000 sessions since 1991 and worked six years at a cancer treatment center in Bellingham, WA, honing his craft as a healer. His books include non-fiction, award-winning fiction, and now children’s books. See more at: www.josephdrumheller.com

With all the anger and divisiveness following the recent election, and many people needing peaceful resolution in their lives at this time, The Curious Mind can help us regain peace within ourselves first, then send it out to the world. DISTANT HEALING TECHNIQUES allow us to be of service from wherever we may be.

Increase Your Own Energy to Heal Others

On Sunday afternoon, after the Global Prayer Effort, we received the good news that the Army Corps of Engineers said they would stop construction of the North Dakota Pipeline through Sioux land and do an environmental impact report for rerouting it.  However, the peaceful protesters are staying in camp because Energy Transfer Partners stated that they “are fully committed to ensuring that this vital project is brought to completion and fully expect to complete construction of the pipeline without any additional rerouting in and around Lake Oahe. Nothing this Administration has done today changes that in any way.”

As we did a healing circle to send energy to the protesters and the situation at Standing Rock, Susan Pa’iniu Floyd, a Hawaiian Shaman and teacher of Kino Mana bodywork with Aloha International, shared her method of distant healing.

Distant Healing Technique from Susan Floyd*:

First, I’ve learned I need to practice releasing tension within myself first, with happy woman standing on a sunset in ocean wavestechniques I’ve learned from Serge Kahili King, usually Piko Piko breathing (visualize breathing in energy from the top of your head and releasing it through the bottom of your feet, like bringing in energy through the crown chakra and releasing all tension through the root chakra), and self-massage.

My mission is to get myself into a high state of energy by releasing my own tension, so then I can focus on healing for who and where I want to help on the planet.

The focus on others has as much energy as you have to share. If we don’t have a lot of energy vibrations here, we’ll have less to send them.

In the case of Standing Rock, I’m thinking of everyone there in a state of absolute harmony, relaxation on all sides, because there’s so many people with different points of view. We have a lot of good people there but we’re not finding the right way to communicate yet.

In sending healing energy, we’re sending the thought, the focus. (The Hawaiian Huna principle of Makia applies here: Energy flows were attention goes. So focus on what you want, not on what you don’t want.)

We need to focus on the goodness we have and the goodness we want. I’m sending energy waves with a lot of good thoughts to help all involved get back into a state of relaxation, remembering who they are. We have to see a higher vision.

This is my commitment to the world now – to release my own tension so that I’m able to give more.

Join the Global Healing Prayer for #StandingRock Sunday, Dec 4

Many people would agree that prayer alone will not solve all of our problems, but to the water protectors at Standing Rock, direct action is considered sacred and prayer can be action, taking a stand for protecting what is sacred, together.

To help achieve a peaceful solution to the situation at Standing Rock, please join the second globally synchronized prayer which will be Sunday, December 4. Learn more at www.praywithstandingrock.com

The first Global Synchronized Prayer was Nov 26th where thousands gathered worldwide at community events to pray and meditate together or from their own homes. Click here to listen to the November 26th prayer led by indigenous leader Ivan Looking Horse.

How can prayer help such a dire situation where peaceful protesters are being violently assaulted by local, state and federal agents?

PRAYER IS ENERGY HEALING IN ACTION

Do you get discouraged if your prayers aren’t immediately answered? The problem may be that we are praying for God or a higher being to do something which it is not in its nature to do… take direct action vs. inspire and guide us to make the right choices.

Serge Kahili King, Ph.D., teacher of the Hawaiian Huna Philosophy and head of Aloha International wrote On Prayer at www.Huna.org:

In prayer we are trying to do something or to get something done, either for ourselves or for someone else. We pray to get an effect, and since an effect is involved, energy has to be involved, and all prayer involves the transmission of energy, [in this case toward the people and situation at Standing Rock].

In the prayer form known as the Lord’s Prayer that is found in the Christian Bible, Jesus states that we should ask for energy (“our daily bread”), cleansing (forgiveness), and guidance. A little further on in the chapter of Luke (11), Jesus makes the famous statement about, “Ask, and it shall be given unto you….” This has been taken to mean that you can ask God for anything you like and you will get it, although in practice it obviously doesn’t work out that way. The reason is revealed only a few lines further. What is to be given is the Holy Spirit. In other words, energy, ideas, and inspiration. We find this same idea in the Old Testament, in Sufi, Hindu, and Chinese writings, as well as in Hawaiian – namely that what we receive from above is the wisdom and the power to act. But it is we who must do the acting.

This brings us to the point of fact that there are essentially two types of prayer: vertical and horizontal. By vertical prayer, I mean that which is directed toward God or the Higher Self or toward someone in spirit. From this type of prayer we can only get inspiration, knowledge, understanding, and energy. Note carefully that the guidance we may get is in the form of ideas and inspiration. We do not actually get the kind of guidance that tells us exactly what to do and how to do it. That kind of guidance implies the making of choices, and that is our sole prerogative.

Horizontal prayer is that directed toward our everyday life, either to heal or help ourselves or others, or to change the future. This type of prayer is accomplished by us, and its effectiveness is determined by our beliefs and by the amount of energy we put into it. We each create our own experience of reality, the circumstances we find ourselves in, and through prayer properly understood we can change those circumstances. But it is the individual who changes the circumstances, not God and not the High Self. From them we only get the tools; they will not do the work for us.

Please join in prayer for Standing Rock so that all involved get the guidance to resolve the situation in a peaceful, environmentally-conscious manner. And please invite your friends to help positively impact the momentum of Standing Rock.

DYNAMIND HEALING – THE CROWN CHAKRA

I learned the Dynamind Technique for healing physical, emotional, mental and spiritual dis-ease from Hawaiian shaman, Serge Kahili King, Ph.D.  Dynamind is a combination of words, breath and movements that work together to release any tension causing imbalances in your chakras and your life.

THE CROWN CHAKRA

Located at the top of the head, the seventh chakra, the Crown Chakra, connects us to spirit, the Divine and cosmic consciousness.

It transcends the physical and enters the realm of pure thought or higher consciousness. It vibrates with the energy of the color violet or diamond white.

Physical health issues commonly associated with the Crown Chakra include hypersensitivity to light, sound and the environment, cerebral and central nervous system disorders, and chronic exhaustion. Emotional or mental health issues include a feeling of aloneness or detachment, worry, depression, a loss of meaning, and psychoses.

When the Crown Chakra is balanced, you feel on the path to your destiny, an enhanced sense of spirituality, access to the subconscious, and a sense of calm and peace.

USING DYNAMIND TO BALANCE THE CROWN CHAKRA:

1) FOCUS – Hold your hands out in a loose prayer-like position.

2) DECLARE – Say aloud the condition you’re feeling that you would like to change, e.g.,

“I feel separate and alone and I know that can change. I want that feeling to go away.”

“My nerves are frayed and I know that can change. I want my hypersensitivity to noise to go away.”

If you have no symptoms to release, you can use Dynamind to strengthen the Crown Chakra, with a declaration such as:

“I’m not as peaceful and calm as I want to be. I want to be more aware of the beauty all around me.”

3) RELEASE – Tap 7 times on the center of your chest, then at the point between the thumb and forefinger of each hand, and on the top bone of your spine (the 7th cervical vertebra).

4) BREATHE – Direct your breath, inhaling with your attention on the crown of your head, exhaling with your attention below your feet.

Repeat until you feel the desired result.

BALANCE YOUR CHAKRAS WITH DYNAMIND HEALING

Do you want to learn special yoga poses and mind-body exercises that can be used to balance each of the seven chakras? In CHAKRA SECRETS, you can follow Rebecca, the workshop leader from The Chakra Diaries, as she tells her side of the story, including explosions of past lives, betrayals, loss, grief and guilt, on her path to becoming a yoga teacher and chakra healer.

FROM CHAKRA SECRETS:

I learned an exciting, simple-yet-profound energy healing tool from Serge Kahili King, PhD, founder of the Huna group, Aloha International. Dynamind was like a simplified version of the Energy Freedom Technique (EFT) and it did have similarities to it, Dr. King said. “But in Huna, we try to make things as simple as possible, as effective as possible, so we’ve combined the power of words, breath, movement and feeling into one mind-body healing technique.”

Dynamind can be used to heal a wide range of physical dis-ease, it was explained. You simply stated out loud what you wanted to change – the  problem, pain or discomfort – and tapped, breathed and felt it go away.

Dr. King advised asking yourself what emotion was a problem, where you felt that emotion in the body, and then work on changing that physical sensation to let the healing energy of the body once again flow freely. All emotion manifests within the body with some physical ‘feeling.’ Just as chakra imbalances can manifest in uncomfortable physical and emotional problems.

Man in Tibet Melts Snow with his Body Heat!

A recent story chronicled an amazing feat by a Tibetan man. An observer noted that the man’s mental concentration was so acute that he could sit outdoors in deep snow, nude and melt the snow around his body.

At the Hindu monastery on Kauai, we were visited by a guru from India who could breathe through his eyes.

These extreme results of the practice of meditation can result in what may look like miracles. But we can all achieve miracles in our lives through meditation, more useful ones than melting snow or breathing through eyeballs. For example, meditation can reduce stress and anxiety, enhance motor reflexes, increase motor control, increase exercise tolerance, sharpen perceptions, increase awareness, improve concentration, maintain health, provide a general positive outlook on life, and foster the development of a sense of personal meaning in the world.

Scientific studies reveal that meditation produces a specific physiological response pattern that involves various biological systems: metabolic, autonomic, endocrine, neurological, and psychological. Studies on how these mechanisms are involved in producing the final pattern of responses continue. The answers are so complex, the physiological response to meditation probably occurs on a multidimensional, interactive basis.

But why wait? We know the benefits of meditation, if not all the hows and whys. You can experience the benefits through simple sitting meditation, clearing of the mind with a focus on your breath. Or quiet your busy “chattering mind” with a guided visualization. To try a guided visualization that you can listen to lying down, try this Chakra Meditation.

Healthy Foods to Balance Your Chakras

Becca says chocolate on Valentine's Day will help open your Third Eye Chakra, for greater intuition and psychic power.

Foods, especially that share colors with the chakras, carry vibrations that can activate or balance your chakras.

Root Chakra Healing Foods: Animal protein, root vegetables, edible and medicinal mushrooms, red-colored foods (apples, pomegranates, etc.)

Sacral Chakra Healing Foods: Fats and oils, fish (especially wild-caught salmon), tropical fruits, seeds, nuts, orange-colored foods (oranges, tangerines, carrots, etc.)

Solar Plexus Chakra Healing Foods: Carbohydrates (complex), whole grains, legumes, yellow-colored foods (yellow sweet peppers, yellow lentils, corn, etc.)

Heart Chakra Healing Foods: Green leafy vegetables, sprouts, raw foods, any green-colored foods or drinks like green tea

Throat Chakra Healing Foods: Seaweed, fruit, and liquids like juices, soups, sauces

Third Eye Chakra Healing Foods: Caffeine, chocolate, spices, wine, purple-red foods (purple potatoes, red onions, blackberries, blueberries, purple grapes, etc.)

Crown Chakra Healing Foods: Since the crown chakra is more “spirit” than “matter,” it is not nourished with physical foods in the same way that they feed other chakras, but is usually healed by fasting and on the sustenance that comes from sunlight, air, and love.
