Natural Stone Tree of Life Charm Bracelet

Crystals are used by many to help the body balance its vital strength. But can you really balance your chakra with crystals? The answer is yes, and in this post, we will tell you how these crystals work.

Crystals and Chakras

Healing crystals and stones in chakra bracelets and necklaces are not just pieces of jewelry. Even if a person just wears them as an eye candy, these crystals do much, much more. The patterns of healing crystals and stones work to help cleanse, align and balance your energy centers.

Crystals and Chakras go hand in hand when talking about our body. Our body has seven chakras or energy centers. Chakras play vital roles and maintain a constant flow of strength in the body. They are also linked to each other and work in sync to strike an overall body energy balance.

Here are the 7 Chakras, with their colors and features:

  1. Root Chakra (Red) – this chakra is about how we feel safe and secure, and controls our basic needs as human beings.
  2. Sacral Chakra (Orange) – this chakra is linked with being creative. It is also our sexual center.
  3. Solar Plexus Chakra (Yellow) – this chakra stands for our sense of power and self-esteem. This is the area between your belly button and breastbone.
  4. Heart Chakra (Green) – the heart chakra is about love and kindness. It also unites the upper and lower chakras. It also shows how we relate to ourselves and others.
  5. Throat Chakra (Blue) – this chakra is connected to our ability to speak the truth, and how creative we are in expressing ourselves. It helps unlock our deepest feelings.
  6. Third Eye Chakra (Indigo) – also known as the “Ajna.” This chakra relates to our intuition and helps us listen to our gut instinct.
  7.  Crown Chakra (Violet) – the crown chakra stands for our conscious self, spiritual health and how we connect with the universe. It helps us feel aware and gives us a sense of love and light.

But what if there’s an imbalance in your chakras? Here’s where healing crystals come in. Like the chakras, they stand for certain colors and support your energy centers.

How to Balance Your Chakras with Crystals

Chakras need to be open and aligned for energy balance. If your powers are not balanced, you’ll find it hard to keep them open. One way to do this is to balance your chakras with crystals.

Chakra crystals help open, balance, or support the energy of the chakras. This is based on the belief that such stones or crystals have a natural healing frequency.

In short, energy is harnessed and channeled through the crystal. It then resonates with the vibration of the chakra you’re focusing on. And the easiest way to utilize this healing energy is by wearing jewelry containing natural stones. Stones used in a particular healing piece may vary as each crystal has its own properties and resonates the most with a specific chakra.

List of Healing Crystals

Here’s a list of commonly used stones and crystals that heal our chakras:

  • Root Chakra: Tiger’s Eye, Hematite, Fire Agate, Bloodstone, Black Tourmaline
  • Sacral Chakra: Moonstone, Coral, Citrine, Carnelian
  • Solar Plexus Chakra: Topaz, Malachite, Calcite
  • Heart Chakra: Rose Quartz, Jade, Green Tourmaline, Green Calcite
  • Throat Chakra: Turquoise, Lapis Lazuli, Aquamarine
  • Third Eye Chakra: Purple Fluorite, Black Obsidian, Amethyst
  • Crown Chakra: Selenite, Diamond, Clear Quartz

First, you can check the set of crystals that are related to your chakras. Bear in mind that the chakras can be linked to many crystals and you will need to find out which one works best for you.

You may also use your intuition to choose your healing crystal. Observe the glow of the crystals and see which ones are most suitable. You may also feel the energy of the crystal by placing it in your hand. You will feel a tingling or heating sensation.

Benefits of Chakra Crystals

Screen Shot 2017-05-18 at 6.04.37 PM.pngWearing a bracelet, such as the one shown here – the Chakra Healing Amethyst Buddha Bracelet, is beneficial for your body and mind in many ways. For instance, in this bracelet, the Amethyst meaning is to purify, heal, and protect; Tigers Eye is included to maintain harmony and balance and help to relieve fear and anxiety; Lapis Lazuli to stimulate the desire for knowledge and truth, etc. Wearing this bracelet, you’ll notice:

  • It balances our energy centers and grounds us.
  • It calms us and relieves anxiety.
  • It clears our thoughts.

  • It cleanses our body and mind of negative energy. It also removes blockages to promote the smooth flow of positive energy.

THE THROAT CHAKRA: OPENING TO YOUR INNER TRUTH

a beautiful woman doing yoga on the rocks showing a healthy way to live a happy and relaxed lifestyle in a world full of stress with a beautiful rainbow in the background

Do you want to be more in touch with your inner wisdom? Do you want to transform and express your True Self? Then, you’ll want to use this info from The Chakra Energy Diet to help balance your Throat Chakra.

If you agree with more than 3 or 4 of the following statements, you may want to look at ways to heal your Throat Chakra…

THROAT CHAKRA ISSUES

  1. I don’t have time to cook.
  2. I tend to gulp down my food.
  3. I tend to overeat, but still feel the need for more.
  4. I have or have had bulimia or anorexia.
  5. I get frequent sore throats.
  6. I have difficulty expressing myself.
  7. I have an oral fixation–always chewing gum or my pen or fingernails.
  8. I drink too much or am addicted to cigarettes.
  9. I have a slow metabolism.
  10. I’m hyperactive, in talk and emotions.
  11. I often have a stiff neck and/or tight shoulders.

The Throat Chakra is associated with communication, the ability to speak honestly, to receive and process information, to know and speak your inner truth and to listen and hear what other people are really saying.

Tony was one of my workshop participants who, although handsome and buff (a regular weight lifter), often got tongue-tied around women because he felt that whatever he said would either be wrong or misunderstood. He usually pushed too hard, too fast, to cover up his shyness. Most of his calories came from alcohol to relax, and protein shakes to help build muscle.

Slowing things down, Tony joined a Macrobiotic cooking class, which started to make a world of difference in his life. After a session of chanting, the class would cook meals beginning with miso soup, as the appetizer to more healthy dinner entrees. He began spending more time listening to his dates and learning more about them and what they wanted in life and in a relationship. He realized he had been too focused on impressing women with his bragging, instead of being his true self – warm, compassionate and caring.

The Fifth Chakra: The Throat Chakra is located at the front of the throat and is associated with the thyroid and parathyroid glands in the neck. Signs of an unbalanced Throat Chakra are an inability to express oneself, feeling stagnated, and holding on to unexpressed emotions (which can manifest as holding on to excess body weight too). This can lead to frustration, inability to find the right words or even excessive talking, shyness, sore throat, stiff neck, and addictions to tobacco, street drugs, alcohol and binge eating.

When the Throat Chakra is balanced, we feel creatively inspired and able to express ourselves well. We have confidence in our beliefs and the self-confidence to share them, and the capacity to listen to others and truly hear them as well.

The Throat Chakra’s balance is intimately tied to the health of the thyroid gland, which secretes hormones that control your metabolism, so a sluggish thyroid (hypothyroidism) will make it hard for you to lose weight, maintain energy, warm your hands and feet, or even stay in a positive mood. A hyperactive thyroid also causes severe metabolic and immune system problems. So foods that nourish the thyroid will also nourish the Throat Chakra.

Screen Shot 2014-03-13 at 10.41.37 AMThroat Chakra Healing Foods – Soothing Liquids or Blue in Color

Fifth chakra foods are soothing to the throat and nourishing to the thyroid gland. There aren’t many foods in nature that are BLUE in color – but be sure to include blueberries and blackberries, as well as licorice and slippery elm bark (soothing demulcents for the throat, esophagus and stomach). Soups, especially those containing vitamin-, mineral- and fiber-containing vegetables, are especially soothing to the throat chakra. Seaweeds, like nori, wakame, dulse, arame, hijiki, kelp or kombu, contain iodine to support thyroid function and have a demulcent action on the throat.

How you eat your food is of utmost importance to the Throat Chakra, as well as to your whole digestive system. Chewing your food consciously and thoroughly will exercise the Throat Chakra and unleash the nutrients in the food for easier digestibility. Have you ever gulped down a large meal and still not felt satisfied or nourished, but rather still hungry?

CHEW each bite at least 20 times, more if you have food sensitivities. It’s hard to chew and talk at the same time, so savor at least one meal per day chewing in silence and awareness. Also chew your liquids (soups and teas) to mix them with digestive-aiding enzymes found in the saliva.

“Drink your food, chew your liquids,” I was taught by my Macrobiotic teachers.

Dairy products can clog your throat and the lactose in them can affect your blood sugar as well, so avoid them if you are congested. Drink plenty of water, especially first thing in the morning, to cleanse your system.

My favorite menus for the Throat Chakra are ones that provide the five tastes – spicy, sour, sweet, bitter and astringent foods all in one meal, e.g., miso soup with wakame seaweed as a starter to an entrée of stir-fried vegetables over brown rice with a spicy Thai peanut sauce, and a salad with a balsamic-blueberry dressing. For dessert, I love to make a blueberry sorbet.

MisoTaste the Healing Power of Throat Chakra Recipes: To make miso soup, sautee some sliced onions in 1 T. sesame oil. Add 2 cups of water, bring to a boil, and add a 3” strip of wakame seaweed cut up in small pieces, and other veggies such as chopped kale or carrots, then cook for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and dissolve 1 T. of miso into the soup by stirring in the paste through a strainer.

Look for non-GMO Light Yellow Miso or Chick Pea Miso in the refrigerator section of your health food store. A good source of protein and B vitamins, unpasteurized miso paste also contains friendly bacterial enzymes for your gut, and helps cleanse radiation and nicotine from the body.

For a delicious Blueberry Sorbet, just freeze blueberries and peeled bananas, then blend them together for a creamy, sweet, soothing and satisfying alternative to ice cream.

Screen Shot 2014-03-13 at 10.03.56 AMYoga Poses for the Throat Chakra

In my Chakra Yoga Flow, I like to move from the Cobra Pose to the Lion Pose to open up Throat Chakra energy. The pose looks funny, but is very effective, especially if you feel you are getting a sore or scratchy throat.

These poses can also be added to your yoga repertoire to open the Throat Chakra: the Half Shoulder Stand, Shoulder Shrugs and Circles, and the Fish pose, as well as pranayama breathing exercises.

Throat Chakra Healing Activities

Use this general affirmation or grace before cooking and eating for the Throat Chakra:

“May this food bless and nourish my body and help me communicate my truth.”

Sound Healing is very powerful and harmonizing for the Throat Chakra. Singing, toning and chanting are beneficial. Drumming, and any exercise involving rhythm will also help balance this chakra. I especially recommend Ecstatic Dancing and the Dances of Universal Peace where you dance while singing loving words.

Walking is a perfect exercise, as it relaxes both body and mind, that anyone can do to support the Throat Chakra.

Throat Chakra Visualization

Imagine healing green light from the heart chakra moving up the spine to the throat, where it becomes a beautiful sky blue. Breathe in the blue light, then fill your lungs and let your throat open wide and sing whatever tone or note feels right… AAAH! Release any negativity and cynicism and open yourself to communicating as a holy being.

You know what to say and what not to say, how to communicate well. Feel yourself singing out clear energy, loving notes, healing vibrations for yourself and the entire universe. Make yourself heard and listen well to the love that returns to you, as your audience, your universal family, stand up and clap for you.

What’s Love Got to Do with Chakras?

Unlock your heartIf your chakras are blocked or closed, your ability to give and receive love will also be blocked. Relationships will be rocky, and your ability to feel love and happiness will be locked away.

The participants in my Chakra Workshops keep journals which clearly show how a blocked chakra can also block love in your life. And my book, based on these journals, The Chakra Diaries, shows how using meditations and the other tools described, can lead to happier endings.

In honor of Valentine’s Day, I wanted to remind you that everything is all about love. Life’s struggles (yes, even money issues) can be fixed with love. Every difficult relationship or situation can be remedied with love. Any chakra blockage may be healed and opened through love. The healing power of love can change things in an instant.

HERE’S HOW BALANCED CHAKRAS CAN IMPROVE YOUR LOVE LIFE:
ROOT CHAKRA – When you feel grounded and safe, you feel like you belong and are able to be a more responsible partner.
SACRAL CHAKRA – When balanced, your creativity and sexuality are free-flowing, and you are able to be a more romantic partner.
SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA – With your personal power chakra balanced and your self-love in place, you will feel the confidence necessary to find and win your soul mate.
HEART CHAKRA – Love and compassion, the keynotes of a balanced Heart Chakra, will help you retain your relationships, through better or worse.
THROAT CHAKRA – With the ability to speak your truth about your needs and wants, your relationships will be more harmonious and fulfilling.
THIRD EYE CHAKRA – As you increase your intuition, you will have a closer bond, not only to your higher self, but to your loved ones.
CROWN CHAKRA – As you channel the divine love of the universe, you will be better able to act from a place of love in all areas of your life.

In The Chakra Diaries, 10 people in a chakra workshop journal about their lives, troubles and relationship problems, and how they regain their balance, their joy, through THE HEALING POWER OF LOVE.

Here’s to love!

THE CHAKRA DIET, SPEAKING ABOUT THE THROAT CHAKRA

Screen Shot 2014-03-13 at 10.41.37 AMThe Throat Chakra, the fifth chakra, is associated with communication, the ability to speak honestly, to receive and process information, to know and speak our inner truth.

It is the center of transformation and change. Signs of an unbalanced Throat Chakra are an inability to express yourself, feeling stagnated, and holding on to unexpressed emotions (which can manifest as holding on to excess body weight too). This can lead to frustration, inability to find the right words or even excessive talking, shyness, sore throat, stiff neck, and addictions like smoking, alcohol and binge eating.

When the Throat Chakra is balanced, we feel creatively inspired and able to express ourselves well. We have confidence in our beliefs and the self-confidence to share them, and the capacity to listen to others and truly hear them as well.

The Throat Chakra’s balance is intimately tied into the health of the thyroid gland, located in the throat area. The thyroid secretes hormones that control your metabolism, so a sluggish thyroid (hypothyroidism) will make it hard for you to lose weight, maintain energy, warm your hands and feet, or even stay in a positive mood. A hyperactive thyroid also causes severe metabolic and immune system problems. So foods that nourish the thyroid will also nourish the Throat Chakra.

Foods, especially that share colors with the chakras, carry vibrations that can activate or balance your chakras. The Throat Chakra is associated with the color blue.

Throat Chakra Healing Foods: Fifth chakra foods are soothing to the throat and nourishing to the thyroid gland. Those that are blue or deep red in color include blueberries, blackberries, grapes and cherries. Soups, especially those containing vitamin-and mineral- and fiber-containing vegetables, will be especially soothing to the throat chakra. Seaweeds, like kelp or kombu, contain iodine to support thyroid function and have a demulcent action on the throat.

Dairy products and sugar can clog your throat and wreak havoc with your blood sugar as well, so are best avoided. Drink plenty of water, especially first thing in the morning to cleanse your system. Try the herbal sugar substitute Stevia and herbal teas instead of sodas.

Chewing your food consciously and thoroughly will also exercise the Throat Chakra and unleash the nutrients in the food for easier digestibility. Have you ever gulped down a large meal and still not felt satisfied or nourished, but even still hungry? I recommend chewing each bite 20 times, more if you have food allergies. It’s hard to chew and talk at the same time, so I choose to savor at least one meal per day chewing in silence and awareness.

Screen Shot 2014-03-13 at 10.03.56 AMYoga Poses for the Throat Chakra:

Add these poses to your yoga repertoire to open the throat chakra: the Half Shoulder Stand, Shoulder Shrugs and Circles, the Fish and the Lion pose.

Throat Chakra Healing Activities: DreamDance

Walking is a perfect exercise to support the Throat Chakra, as it evens out inconsistent energies in the body and relaxes the mind. Singing and dancing, drumming, and any exercise involving rhythm will help balance this chakra. I especially recommend Ecstatic Dancing and the Dances of Universal Peace where you dance while singing truth (loving words).

When we balance our chakras, we craft our lives the way we want them to be, rather than living in constant reaction to forces outside of us. These spirals of energy are wheels that heal, feeding the body good energy and profoundly affecting our metabolism, as well as emotions, sensations and behaviors.

My favorite recipes for the Throat Chakra are ones that provide the five tastes – spicy, sour, sweet, bitter and astringent foods all in one meal… e.g., miso soup with wakame seaweed, an entrée of stir-fried vegetables over Forbidden black rice with a spicy sauce, and a salad with a sweet-sour balsamic-blueberry dressing.

Please share your favorite recipes for Throat Chakra balancing – it may be included in my upcoming book THE CHAKRA DIET! To enter to win a FREE, personalized Chakra Diet Plan, please go to www.theChakras.org.

WRITING YOUR MEMOIR

Young people want to live in the future.

Older people want to live in the past.

Nobody wants to live in the present.

And where has joy placed itself?

Where has understanding placed itself?

 In the present.

Prem Rawat

Deep ThinkingUnderstanding all we have learned in life can be gelled into the present moment as you write your own memoir, as I did with Chakra Secrets.

If you have gone through life’s tough experiences and come out the other end with wisdom or inspiration to share, you may have a story to tell as well, and doing so can be cathartic to get your words out. Creativity is linked to the second or sacral chakra, which gets strengthened as you flow with the inspiration in your life. As you shout out your message to the world, even on paper, you’ll also be strengthening your throat chakra, which is linked to speaking your truth.

Writing a memoir can also get you into the “now” as you realize the past is over, and you’re in a new situation now.

Embrace today! Release yesterday!

~ Senica Evans

If you’re not up to writing a whole book, start by creating a title for your memoir. Would it announce your accomplishments, offer a way others could handle similar challenges, or simply tell the world where you started and where you’re headed?

Taking stock of what we’ve done in the past gives us a larger view, giving us the chance to really reflect on our lives, letting go and forgiving, and looking forward to using our new-found wisdom and freedom. You might even start to think about what you might do in the years ahead – and what the sequel’s title might be!

HOW TO SHARE YOUR WORDS

Start writing in your journal or sit at your computer, but just go for it. If you want to write a book for publication, perhaps join a writer’s group or take a workshop to hone your writing skills and get feedback.

Self-publishing an eBook or paperback has never been easier or more popular. To ensure your message gets presented in the best manner possible, be sure to invest in a good editor and book cover designer. I recommend my editors at www.IndieAuthorCounsel.com.

Balance the Throat Chakra with Dynamind

Is it easy for you to get your ideas heard? Are you in tune with what you really want? Do you feel a connection to divine inspiration? I learned Dynamind, an energy healing tool, from Serge Kahili King, PhD. Here, you can try it to strengthen your Throat Chakra, and be able to shout YES to the three questions above.

THE THROAT CHAKRA

Located in the back of the throat area, the fifth chakra, the Throat Chakra, is the focal point of sound, communication and self-expression. This chakra center allows us to hear and understand information, express our inner truth and make ourselves heard. It vibrates with the energy of the color sky blue.

Emotional or mental health issues include criticism of the self or others, excessive talking or the inability to find the right words, shyness and frustration. Physical health issues commonly associated with the Throat Chakra include sore throats, upper respiratory illnesses, thyroid problems, stiff neck and stuttering.

When the Throat Chakra is balanced, you have confidence in your beliefs and the words to express them, the ability to hear and communicate well with others, and it allows the heart and the head to align.

USING DYNAMIND TO BALANCE THE THROAT CHAKRA

1) FOCUS – Hold your hands out in a loose prayer-like position.

2) DECLARE – Say aloud the condition you’re feeling that you would like to change, e.g.,

“I feel nauseous knowing I have to give a speech and I know that can change. I want that feeling to go away.”

“I have an earache and I know that can change. I want that pain to go away.”

If you have no symptoms to release, you can use Dynamind to strengthen the Throat Chakra, with a declaration such as:

“I’m not as articulate as I want to be. I want to impact others with my knowledge, with a strong voice like the best of teachers.”

3) RELEASE – Tap 7 times on the center of your chest, then at the point between the thumb and forefinger of each hand, and on the top bone of your spine (the 7th cervical vertebra).

4) BREATHE – Direct your breath, inhaling with your attention on the crown of your head, exhaling with your attention below your feet.

Repeat until you feel the desired result.

For a complete set of Dynamind instructions, click HERE to get a preview from my upcoming book, Chakra Secrets.

Man in Tibet Melts Snow with his Body Heat!

A recent story chronicled an amazing feat by a Tibetan man. An observer noted that the man’s mental concentration was so acute that he could sit outdoors in deep snow, nude and melt the snow around his body.

At the Hindu monastery on Kauai, we were visited by a guru from India who could breathe through his eyes.

These extreme results of the practice of meditation can result in what may look like miracles. But we can all achieve miracles in our lives through meditation, more useful ones than melting snow or breathing through eyeballs. For example, meditation can reduce stress and anxiety, enhance motor reflexes, increase motor control, increase exercise tolerance, sharpen perceptions, increase awareness, improve concentration, maintain health, provide a general positive outlook on life, and foster the development of a sense of personal meaning in the world.

Scientific studies reveal that meditation produces a specific physiological response pattern that involves various biological systems: metabolic, autonomic, endocrine, neurological, and psychological. Studies on how these mechanisms are involved in producing the final pattern of responses continue. The answers are so complex, the physiological response to meditation probably occurs on a multidimensional, interactive basis.

But why wait? We know the benefits of meditation, if not all the hows and whys. You can experience the benefits through simple sitting meditation, clearing of the mind with a focus on your breath. Or quiet your busy “chattering mind” with a guided visualization. To try a guided visualization that you can listen to lying down, try this Chakra Meditation.
